Before You Book
The questions people actually ask.
Will I look pulled, or natural?
That’s the whole reason the technique matters. A deep-plane lift repositions the deeper tissue layer rather than pulling the skin tight — and skin tension is exactly what reads as “pulled.” The goal is your face, rested, so people say you look great rather than asking what you had done. It’s still surgery, and results are individual, but natural is planned for on purpose.
What’s the difference between a deep-plane and a “regular” facelift?
An older skin-tightening or SMAS lift takes up slack by tightening the skin, which can look tight when overdone. An extended deep-plane lift repositions the deeper muscle-and-fat layer as one unit, so the skin isn’t under tension — that’s what makes movement stay natural and the result last longer.
How long does a facelift actually last?
A deep-plane result lasts around 10–12 years on average* — a stated average, not a guarantee, because you keep aging naturally afterward. You don’t “reset the clock”; you set it back and go on from there. Your surgeon gives you a realistic range for your own face at the consultation.
I’m scared of going under. Is there an awake option?
For suitable candidates, a deep-plane lift can be done awake under local anesthesia — a safer alternative to general anesthesia for those who qualify, often with a faster recovery. It is candidacy-gated, not for everyone, and still real surgery; your surgeon confirms whether it’s right for you in person.
How much downtime are we really talking about?
Honestly: a facelift or neck lift means roughly two weeks of visible swelling and bruising for most people, with the result refining for months after. Eyelid surgery involves visible eye bruising that fades over one to two weeks. These are typical ranges, individual, and never guaranteed — no “lunchtime” promises here.
Will I still look like me after rhinoplasty?
Yes — that’s the specialist’s entire job. A preservation or ultrasonic technique refines shape while keeping what makes your nose yours, heritage included. We refine, we don’t erase. A nose that fits your face, not a generic one. Keep in mind the nose’s final result can take 12 months or more to fully settle.
My nose affects my breathing — is that covered?
Sometimes, in part. When there’s a documented breathing obstruction, the functional part of a nose procedure may be partly covered by insurance when medically indicated — we’ll help you check. The purely cosmetic reshaping isn’t, and we’d never disguise one as the other. It’s an honest conversation, not a coverage promise.
How is the 3D preview different from a real result?
A 3D preview is a simulation to help you picture a likely outcome and design your plan with your surgeon — it is not a guarantee, and your actual result will be your own. It removes the biggest uncertainty (“how will I look?”) without pretending to be a certainty. Candidacy and the final plan are confirmed at your consultation.
What about the cost?
Fees are a private conversation, discussed one-to-one with the practice at your consultation once a plan is designed for your face — every plan is different, so there’s no one number to post. The consultation itself is free and no-obligation. Asking is welcome; it’s exactly what the consult is for.
How do I know if I’m even a candidate?
The 60-second assessment gives a first read in about a minute. It isn’t a diagnosis — a board-certified facial-plastic surgeon confirms candidacy, and the right timing, at your free private consultation, for patients 18 and over.
